ScheduleProgram Rules YOU MUST REGISTER 7 DAYS IN ADVANCE EACH TIME YOU USE THE SERVICE Your piles must be fully staged 5 days before the chipping event in order that the field documentation required by our granting agency can be completed before chipping begins All materials must originate from the property at which chipping will take place You must be a resident of the Greater Alpine community as outlined on our zone map. You may pay someone to create your defensible space, but you personally must register with GAFSC for chipping. Limb diameter is restricted to 8 inches. No mud, rocks, construction debris or trash may be present in material. No bagged or bundled material, loose bark, leaf litter, succulent, thorny, poisonous or fibrous material like palm fronds or bamboo can be chipped. Crews cannot chip stumps or orher materials that have been mechanically removed from the ground by tractors or other heavy machinery. You are responsible for hauling your material to the chipping site and your piles must be within 5 feet of chipper access. Multiple piles or loads are permitted but should not exceed 4 feet in height. Stack materials as shown below with the cut ends facing the roadside or chipper-accessible private driveway. Dumped piles or any staged for burning will not be chipped. Contractors used by the GAFSC will abide by the Project Activity Levels set daily for San Diego County and also will only work when deemed safe and effective to use mechanical equipment. Chips will be left on your property for your use. You do not have to be home for curbside service.
